Express reports that Melania recently paid a visit to the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, Florida, along with her husband, Donald Trump. The First Lady opened a healing garden in the hospital as part of her anti-bullying campaign initiative called Be Best. The garden was designed with the hopes of being able to give strength and healing to children who are currently suffering from diseases. As photos and videos from the visit were posted online, it was met by a slew of criticism from the public online.
Some commenters criticized the effectiveness of the First Lady’s campaign, which puts an emphasis on the wellbeing of children in the country. Some also pointed out how ironic it was given the situation at the border, where children are being detained and separated from their families due to illegally entering the United States. Photos of Christmas wreaths she designed were also shared by the White House. However, it was also met by criticism and mockery from netizens. Some criticized the fact that it was as if Melania invented the holiday, while others pointed out how wreaths were part of the traditional Christmas decor for many years.
